Marvel-ous! April 28, 2008 I'm on my 3rd playthrough, and not just because I want all of the achievements for Xbox Live. I played the first time with the original Fantastic Four and the second time with the New Fantastic Four. This time, I'm using an all female power squad consisting of Storm, Invisible Woman, Storm and Ms Marvel. Since I unlocked all of the costumes in the first play, and since all unlocked items carry over, and also since playing the Hard mode allows you to start with whomever you wish in whatever costumes you wish with whatever powers and items you had at the end of Normal mode, I'm well set for play three. Even playing three times is not really repetitive because things change with the difficulty level you choose. One tip, you cannot go from Easy to Hard without playing Normal. I found that out the hard way, though it is logical to think that is the way it is. I've heard there are differences in Hard vs Normal, I'm looking forward to finding out. Judging by the first boss, who was a cakewalk before and this time KO'd half my team, I'm going to need to adjust my strategy this time around.
Best multi-player game yet April 4, 2008 If you enjoy Marvel games, you'll love this one. The characters have awesome moves and powers. You can mix-n-match your team of 4.
Marvel Alliance January 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is actually a lot more fun then I thought it was originally going to be. I bought it for my brother for Christmas and recently I've played the game co-op with him. The good thing about this game is that if one of your team members dies then you get switched to another one. But, if all of your team members die then you'll start over from the last save point.
There are bonuses if you set up pre-set teams in the game. The game will automatically add extra traits to your team. However, you can set up your own team and build up these traits on your own. There are many heroes to choose from.
So, if you like Marvel comics then this game is for you.
it is what it is January 8, 2008 If you've played X-Men Legends, then you already know exactly how you'll feel about this game, as it is basically the same with a new coat of paint. That is, if playing with all these Marvel characters is exciting for you, then go for it--but frankly, this is basically a glorified platform or arcade game, where you move around a maze and smash things and pick up coins like you were Sonic the Hedgehog. That can be fun--but expect little more, as this is clearly not next-generation gaming. The character upgrade system is needlessly complex, and often the powers are redundant (you probably don't need twelve different ways to punch something). And perhaps most glaringly irritating about this game is the absolutely horrendous voice acting and overall story. This thing is covered in cheese, and not in a good way. I think the developers of this game really need to move on to a new way of looking at video games.
Gets Boring Fast September 30, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
the idea of this game is great. the graphics are great. it's just not the type of game that has you sitting down and playing it 3 hours straight. it gets boring. it has all of these great heroes in it, which they could use to make a game that you can actually just play that person and have lots of fun. just save your money to buy something that is not so boring after 3 hours. one of the halo games maybe or something like that.
