There's no rule saying you can't game and look good doing it with your XBox 360. Personalize it easily with your own design. This kit includes a case for housing two faceplates and your user ID and instructions. Once you design your faceplate, it is shipped directly to your home. I, like others here, was ripped off as well. I bought this summer 2006 thinking how great it would be to create my own faceplate using a photo I took. While I was irritated when I saw the "coming soon" notice on their website, I decided not to return it since I thought the final product would be worth the wait.
To make a long story short, and leaving out detials of email exchanges with their customer service group, they have removed the "coming soon" notice from their website as of Feb 2007. They apparently have decided to cancel this feature. Was I offered a refund? Or credit towards another Pelican product? No. Simply, "we apologize for the inconvenience that feature will not be available".

The package shows a lot of great-looking designs, NONE of which you can create via the Pelican website. The package insert even reads "Your Design Here." However, your "design" is limited to basic colors you can combine with a few awful "tribal tattoos" or three terrible "graffiti" fonts OR a horrible selection of photographs. The product description claims, "You can be sure no one else will have a faceplate exactly like yours when you design it yourself," but there is absolutely no truth to that whatsoever. With the limited selection the website offers, you're guaranteed to have a boring, run-of-the-mill faceplate that anybody else can achieve in just a couple of mouse clicks. I am terribly disappointed with the false promises made on the packaging.

Seems like a good idea, right? Who wouldn't want a faceplate with a picture of your dog or cat or kid or car or whatever? When you actually get on their site to design your personal faceplate, you can't upload your own photos (that feature has been "coming soon" for months now), and the stock graphics that are available range from flames to tribal tattoos to dragons. If I were a 14 year old boy with no immagination, maybe I'd be satisfied, but I'm not. The worst part is that there are so many great designs printed on the package, none of which you can actually make with this product. It would have been much more satisfying to smoke the $30.
