works great May 14, 2008 works fine. thought it was new, but it was an open package, but none the less it works! great product to have a pc controller that you already have with your xbox360
It Works April 14, 2008 I purchased this receiver specifically so I could play Crysis with my 360 controller. I am not disappointed. It makes playing the game so much more comfortable. Plus, the installation process was a breeze. If you are running Vista, be sure not to use the installation CD that comes with the receiver (it's made for XP). Just let Vista find the driver for you. Connecting the controller to the receiver was easy. I'm not getting any interference from my bluetooth keyboard or mouse. Very satisfied.
Wireless Gaming Reciever Works Perfectly!!! April 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased the wireless gaming reciever, and it has worked perfectly!!! The only thing was that the CD with the drivers don't work with vista, but the CD has a link to where you can get the new drivers! This is perfect for me because it supports multiple controllers, and also works with Guitar Hero wireless controllers. Great for XNA GS 2.0 users, or even just a gamer!
Awful black-hole of a device. March 13, 2008 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was a very disappointing purchase.
Pros: The device is small, and coordinates with the white XBox 360 accessories. One of the few devices on the market which seems to have Windows Vista 64bit drivers. Not released on the driver CD that came with the device of course - you had to download them from the xbox site.
Cons: Would not connect to 2 different XBox 360 controllers. Eventually forces other USB peripherals offline.
I used two different wireless XBox 360 controllers and neither one was connecting. After making several attempts to make a connection with one or the other, I called XBox 360 accessory support. The first person i spoke to had no idea what I was talking about. I explained it at some length, and then was put on hold.
Some 15 minutes later, he returned after consulting with another person and proceeded to give me wrong information about where to go to determine if it was connected. When I corrected him, I was put on hold again. He returned and told me that (contrary to the documentation) the controller device would not show that it was connected in the same way it did on the console. When pointed out that the documentation disagreed with him, he told me that the item was defective and I should just return it to the store and get a different one.
When I noted that he didn't seem to know enough about it to determine if it were working or not, he passed me on to a supervisor. She seemed to know a little more, but not much. She finally gave up and indicated that she would need to look it up and call me back. As you can imagine, Microsoft never called back.
I left the receiver plugged in and the next morning my usb Bluetooth keyboard and mouse were not working. I unplugged them, and after rebooting, I was able to reconnect them. The following evening, they were disconnected again. I removed the XBOX wireless receiver, and then had to reboot again before the Bluetooth devices would reconnect.
Not only does this thing NOT work, it causes other perfectly good devices to stop working as well. I am unwilling to go out and buy an external powered USB hub when I built my PC with several on-board USB ports so I wouldn't have to go buy an external hub. This thing is crazy.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
small, simple, sweeeet March 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this specifically for using with Crysis - and it works great. I no longer have to hit a bunch of spaced out keys to access inventory or switch weapons while keeping my fingers on the WASD keys and also pressing down shift to run or ctrl to crouch. Now it's as comfortable as playing any game on my 360. It's a much more ergonomic approach and my fingers don't cramp up anymore from being awkwardly held on the keyboard during extended play.
It took about 5 minutes to install the software and get everything plugged in and working. The only modding I had to do was binding the "prone position" to the right d-pad which they have instructions for online. Now I can lean back in my desk chair and play with my wireless controller, or I can connect to my TV and play it on a 40" HD screen while sitting on my sofa! It's just so convenient. Another great thing is that my PC and my 360 are about 6 feet apart and I have no problems with interference or jamming when using both.
