Worth the wait April 18, 2008 First off I live overseas (outside the US) and there was a glitch with the postal service in my area which for unknown reasons caused the shipment from Amazon to take almost two months to arrive. I thought the order may have gotten lost in the mail after a month an a half and when I reported this to amazon they were nice enough to send me a replacement. That customer service and good faith is why I use amazon for 99% of my online shopping.
As for the wireless adapter itself, I've had an XBox 360 for over a year now, but I hadn't played anything online until I got it. The wireless router works very well and was very simple to set up. I did have a little trouble getting it to cooperate with my router, but after manually entering the information in I works fine. In contrast I still haven't figured out why my Wii's built in wireless adapter won't work with my router. My only complaint with the router is the price, and that there aren't any alternatives, but in the end I think it's worth it.
Doesn't work with a lot of access points. April 14, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this adapter, because generally bridges are a pain, and figured an "integrated" product would work out-of-the-box. Do your research. This will not work with Apple Time Capsule (or Express, from additional research), or numerous other access points for no reason that I can identify.
Microsoft held its customers hostage on this one, which I was willing to live with, but the fact that I can't get it to work with either of the two access points I have around is a total mess.
These are *standards* that Microsoft is not adhering to. insulting.
Works very well! April 14, 2008 I have a netgear router and I live in a country with crappy internet but this seems to work well and gives me a good connection 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time it is the fault of the IP. I recommend this product , no doubt.
It works well April 8, 2008 The Xbox 360 wireless adapter does a good job. If you have an existing wireless network and you want to connect to xbox live this is the product for you. It installs easy and you can be done in 5. Also good if you are understandably unwilling to drill holes in the wall to run an ethernet cable.
No more trailing wires April 4, 2008 If you are looking to declutter all you cables behind your XBOX 360 this will fit the bill nicely. Set-up took just five minutes because I am on a secure network and it takes that long to just insert your WEP key but it is nice and straight forward. The bandwidth itsn't quite the same as running a cable but I live in an old house and it would taken considerable effort to make a clean installation. It is a little pricey and I am sure Microsoft could reduce the price by $10 to $15 with eroding their margins too much but honestly it was worth it to me just to eliminate the cabling.
